The grassy lawn is nice for sunbathers and swimmers. The swimming area is regularly weeded (invasive aquatic plants grow quickly here). It's a nice swimming area for children to use, shallow with a gradual slow, and sandy bottom. The metal steps with hand rail easy entry and exit for those who need it. There is a rope swing off of a concrete ledge, with a metal ladder. The drop is low enough for small children to safely jump off, but the rope swing is enjoyable for all ages.

The water is all spring fed, clear and cool, year round. There is an abundance of wildlife in the area, including turtles, many species of birds, and alligators.

During most weekends when the area can get busy, there is always a law enforcement presence. It's nice for them to be there to keep the peace, as is sometimes needed in free areas where alcohol is permitted. However, I've only seen their services needed to warn swimmers of an alligator, and to remind people that dogs are not allowed.

This river will ALWAYS be home to me.

Beautiful! Family fun. Rent a canoe.

Great river for canoeing, fishing is great, great for bird watchers, the river is spring fed, very clear, and the kids will love it. Plus I love the Wacissa River because my Heritage with my Connel family is from here, and I have over the year's met alot of good folks from the area. You'll love it!

Crystal clear water.

The boat ramp itself is paved, and angled to the driveway for easy backing-in. There is a floating dock immediately next to the ramp.

This is one of the most beautiful rivers that haven't been developed. A hidden gem, went there kayaking many many times, took friends and family there and they all loved it. The aligators won't go for kayaks or adults, but I would think twice about letting kids or dogs loose in the water.

Home is where the heart is!

There is a separate hand-launch area for canoes and kayaks, which is a sandy landing, and sufficient space for 4 boats to sit side-by-side. There is a vehicle pull-through nearby, so you don't need to move your boat more than 20'-30' to the launch.

Love this place, I visit often. It's vary accessible and enjoyable! Gets kinda crazy on the weekends if you have kids l, but useally a good crowd!

The parking lot is dirt and gravel, maintained well enough for any vehicle. There is adequate parking for vehicles with trailers in the center of the lot, with plenty of other spaces around the perimeter. During busy/crowded times, there is roadside parking available on the road leading to the boat ramp. There are 2 porta potties.
